why is resident alien such a good adaptation of a comic book?

precisely because of dialogue like "you will pay me for the whole hour" even when the client is under hypnosis. about alien abduction. and snapping fingers at the end of a countdown. so - tropes and new sarcastic stuff in the scripts.

Watch on YouTube

and is season 3 episode 3, i detect a shoutout to hit monkey of the marvel cinematic universe, with our eponymous alien dipping a teabag into a hot spring of white japanese monkeys, incurring their eternal wrath, like bryce fowler.

but let's forget jason sudeikis and ted lasso and english football - glory glory manchester united, by the way - for the moment to focus on the tussle among human-kidnapping grey aliens and wannabe earth-saver harry vanderspiegle

lol i always wanted to say that funny name out loud, the spiel part is absolutely spot on for an entity making up its life

apart from the human elements making up the show based on the comic book, which is VASTLY different, just so you know, i want to act because it allows us to be different people in virtual life without being disturbed people in real life

any actor who says they are well adjusted in their usual life are lying right out of their sweet patootie, as sheldon says

Ironheart

Excelsior my fellow Marvelers! Did you notice a home decor in ironheart that says "Live, laugh, love"? Guess what - it appears in resident alien too! Spiral!

Ironheart Review by Axat

With that, let’s begin my thought Vlog on marvel television’s latest release, and the last part of phase five of the MCU, IH. It also shares its half-initials with the name of my employer company, Instahyre, an AI powered SaaS business. The AI in IH is named NATALIE, with a huge acronym like JARVIS or EDITH - even dead i'm the hero, that iron man said in spider man. We geeks and nerds love our acronyms and backronyms, which is when you create an acronym for things after they’re named initially, pun intended. I think the show moves fast and furious, with family as the focus of the drama and tech as the focus of the fighting. Heists aren’t uncommon in the MCU. Obviously the Time Heist takes the top spot there. This show teases 3 heists in the first episode, with a “big job” after those 3. We see the first one get done in the first 3 episodes that have dropped, and will see the rest in the upcoming three episodes. There’s a lot of slang language and tech talk, most of which is easy to process for us kind of people who’ll watch imaginative shows that build on flawed characters going on redemption arcs. Speaking of arcs, RiRi Williams has made the ironheart suit without the Stark arc reactor sitting under its chest plate. I really like how her ironheart suit is wind and solar powered, But this is my zero spoiler show promo, so I’ll desist from leaking plot points that you can scroll through on Wikipedia and just honourably mention that doctor strange style magic plays a part in this series. Although… I must mention the pop culture references that pop up here and there in the script, like Spy Kids, Google, Al Capone, little mermaid and…wait for it…Star Wars! On that note, did you know that Andor is the original name of Numenor, the Blessed Island or Lonely Isle, beacon of hope in Tolkien’s Middle-Earth? And guess what the Elvish name for the island was after it had been drowned in the sea by Eru? Atalantë! Does that name ring a bell, pop culture fans?

And Tolkien created a Straight Road as an allegory for attaining heaven, like a bridge, which is the root of the name of the alien baby in Resident Alien - Bridget. Spiral 🌀!

Such spirals just make me smile! Also, Riri’s AI friend very sarcastically says “How convenient” about a Chekhov’s Gun. Vinyasa yoga is practised by the anti-hero-villain, Hood. Just goes to show that not every guy who does yoga is a hero.

Let me know what you thought of ironheart in the comments! Don’t be shy!

See you next week for more on ironheart, xlsr! PS: JioStar shows ads of a protein snack, so I think it’s targeted pretty well at MCU fans who aren’t couch potatoes and take care of their health as much as they can, including yours truly! I’m Axat ;) ciao

India lost to Hong Kong in Asian AFC Cup qualifiers

Hello my bitterly disappointed Indian football fanatics! It was a hard loss to take.

Super-sub Stefan Pereira scored the last-second penalty awarded to Hong Kong.

In fact, the penalty was won against India’s goalkeeper Vihal Kaith by Udebuluzor.

He was subbed in the 75th minute. I wonder why Amrinder or Gurpreet didn’t play?

The introduction of super ex-captain Sunil Chhetri at the one hour mark did nothing.

Next, in October, we will play Singapore, both home and away, within just one week.

After those 2 matches, it will be Bangladesh hosting us on 18th November - we drew.

The last group stage match will be on the last day of March 2026, versus Hong Kong.

So, 4 matches to go, we are at the bottom place in our group, with a mountain to climb.

Watch my videos about Indian football, Manchester United, and lots of travel! Namaste!

Mountainhead Movie Review

Hello my fellow film aficionados! I am Axat, and I write my reviews while watching the movie or show I’m reviewing, with a final stream-of-thought rant at the end while the credits start rolling - or, in the case of most franchise movies and series, after all the mid/post credit scenes are over.

Watch this review on my YouTube channel - https://youtube.com/shorts/hMWKpWZPpt0

In the case of Mountainhead, who better than Steve Carell to quote Star Wars by excluding his defeatist doctor from the tech-bros-hang get-together with the phrase “no droids in the cantina!”

The tech billionaire bros have massively contrasting personalities, which is a must-have for such bottle-plot movies. Bottle episodes in TV are when one set is used for the whole episode, which is the case here too. By the end of the movie, which doesn’t have much of a plot except petty jealousy and selfishness and the tyranny of evil men who control the technology which drives much of our digital world, I was mildly entertained. The script had a lot of Western philosophy thrown in, but most of it pretty much boiled down to “I want this, and I’ll justify my committing a crime to get it, no matter what the cost.” Eventually, though, nothing much changes for them.

They remain oblivious to the death raging in the world due to one of them, and carelessly cast it aside in favor of pursuing their personal agendas. So the moral of the story and my review of it is: watch Mountainhead, or don’t - it makes no difference to the ultra-rich, or the rest of society.
