It just hit me: the reason there are not as many intellectual breakthroughs from India as we are capable of is that we start education with the aim of getting a job, a salary, a profit, a comfortable life, the sort of furniture the narrator of Fight Club has, etc. add to this the heavier burden of our parents' expectations, and top off this health hazard with the icing of peer pressure. A heady cocktail, one to make any head swim.
I don't think of the past. The only thing that matters is the everlasting present. W. Somerset Maugham Ralph Waldo Emerson - "To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment."
