Jugnuma - The Fable - PRSPCTVS Prdctns

First off - Manoj Bajpayee - forgot to mention in my Bihari actors idols list https://youtu.be/XyqKntAgPLA watch me wax eloquent about the movie Slow movies set in the Himalayas, where my home is, entertain me a lot Because they make me nostalgic, and make me think about ecotourism Typo subtitles - village chief's daughter's wedding - double wedding trip Jugnuma is set in 1989 so there are quite a few anachronisms but it's ok It's ponderously slow in most parts, it's very laid-back - until it fires up lit Shot in high def but shown in grainy old-timey cigarette burns [fight club] A little brother asks older sister to come out of the room and play - frozen Firefly jugnu flying in sync and their surreal swarm light pulsing collectively Movies are make-believe, so we suspend our disbelief - this was too slow But sometimes we need to slow down a little to appreciate our privilege :) No nature was harmed in the making of this film - i like thi...

Learning from Adwitya While I Teach Adwitya

Adwitya is learning fast, and learning well. The first thing I learnt when I grew up was that everyone dies. I won’t live forever. My legacy will. We love watching over the top apocalyptic survival scenarios in movies and TV shows and OTT because we like to try to imagine what we would do if we were in such a situation. In fact, I had written my first novella about such a situation, about how I would climb the Himalayas to escape the death and destruction in northern India's plains due to an artificial disaster . We can only prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Example gratitia Adwitya just learnt that we should go under a table if an earthquake happens. We are helpless against nature's fury, which is why I live by 6hourism . A lot of things Adwitya does make me curious about how the human brain learns about how to live the best life possible. Another example: I observed her trying a new experiment today: pulling a few of her hair to test when it starts to pain ....

An Existentialist Post - Axat's 6hourism

So now that I’m into my forties, I’m proper middle aged , which reminds me of middle earth. But that’s just another escape from reality I like to lose myself in. In college I used to burn myself with lit cigarettes, mainly on my forearm but occasionally on my chest and neck, as a way of dealing with what I thought was life’s unfairness towards me. I hurt no one except myself, and I still don’t when I end up hitting myself. Thankfully I’ve not become mad enough to draw blood for a long time now, but there were instances. I blame me. There’s no one and nothing to put my actions on but me. I’m unstable, just not all the time. I project a happy face to the world because that’s what they want. But now I’m forty, and I’ll face my mortality by knowing that I’ve lived life under clouds of self doubt and feeling like a failure, and yet I’ll keep trying to achieve more forever until my last breath, when my mind dies. I believe in hope, and positive patience. 6hourism. https://youtu.be/-xJm...

No Filter Sarah Frier

Hello my fellow book lovers! In No Filter , journalist Sarah Frier delivers a masterful, behind-the-scenes chronicle of Instagram ’s meteoric rise—from its artistic-focused startup origins to its global dominance under Facebook ’s shadow—drawing on exclusive interviews with founders, insiders, and cultural figures. The book balances vivid storytelling with meticulous reporting, portraying not just the business maneuvers, but the human drama behind key decisions, including the eventual departure of the founders. It's reception is overwhelmingly positive: The Verge called it “meticulously reported, beautifully told.” In short, No Filter is an essential, unfiltered look at one of today’s most influential tech platforms—insightful, engaging, and rich with broader societal implications. Thanks to my employer, Instahyre , for this helpful book! https://youtube.com/shorts/QcEkiL-MUx0

7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey

Be Proactive – Take responsibility for your actions and focus on what you can control, instead of reacting to external circumstances. https://youtube.com/shorts/mG9QfBdjtR4 Begin with the End in Mind – Define a clear vision of your goals and values so that daily actions align with long-term purpose. Put First Things First – Prioritize important tasks over urgent but less meaningful ones, practicing effective time and energy management . Think Win-Win – Approach relationships with a mindset of mutual benefit, seeking solutions that respect both your needs and others’. Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood – Listen empathetically before expressing your views, building trust and stronger communication. Synergize – Collaborate by valuing differences and combining strengths to achieve outcomes greater than what individuals could accomplish alone. Sharpen the Saw – Invest regularly in renewing yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually to sustain ...

Live Lightly

Namaste...Today I'm very sad - about the recent deaths at Mata Vaishno Devi . We went there in April 2025 for our 6th marriage anniversary and mundan , because we had pledged it during our previous yatra in October 2021. I am an existentialist, and that is why I quote Ludwig Wittgenstein : "Death is not an event in life: We do not live to experience death. If we take eternity to mean not infinite temporal duration but timelessness, then eternal life belongs to those who live in the present. Our life has no end in the way in which our visual field has no limits." Rest in peac e . https://youtu.be/BhzUfoywpgU To you, I say: don’t worry about the future. Live lightly in the present. Learn from the past. Here I quote Ludwig Wittgenstein again: "I won't say 'See you tomorrow' because that would be like predicting the future, and I'm pretty sure I can't do that." That's why I try my best to live in the present and never constrain myself to ...

Aliens Are Real & Resident!

May the Force be with you, and curiosity always guide you! Hi! I’m Axat, and after watching season 2 of Resident Alien, I decided to wax eloquent about the possibility of extra terrestrial intelligence. The SETI project was spearheaded by Frank Drake and heavily helped by the witty personality of Carl Sagan, a scientist par excellence. I totally appreciate what they envisioned, and I do think life surely already exists in the vast universe, or even our galaxy, but intelligent life with interstellar communication capabilities would be extremely rare. Calculations of the Drake Equation are also not very encouraging, but I’ll say this - I hope to be alive when we receive any communication from aliens. I highly doubt there are governments hiding aliens from the public, and more determined minds than mine have dug around conspiracy theories before debunking them properly. Nevertheless, I like it when imaginations run wild and create shows and movies and comics and books and video game...
