I did not mind college placements; we all pretty much knew our relative positions in the batch, and so there were few surprises and fewer chances of pushing or opulling people here and there. The maximum that I heard was that placement "co-ordinators" were attempting some things...it was all pretty irrelevant and in the end, everyone was happy and stuff. In the course of typing this, I deduce that the reason for everlasting bonhomie was that we handled our own placements, our seniors their own, and our juniors their own. A major difference.
By Pink Floyd Excellent song. The lyrics pertain to (most probably) the group's experience itself. As such, it is funny and humorous, poking fun at the system of media barons and "chart" economics. I relate to it even more these days, when all I need is money. I am at peace, content, moksha-esque, even - but I do need money for subsistence. Which reminds me , how do I monetize my writings? Time to fire up the Vaio.
